Este operativo se realiza con la intención de salvaguardar la integridad de los visitantes, brindando seguridad, asistencia médica e información turística, además de ofrecer una imagen positiva del puerto, por ello el alcalde Evodio Velázquez instruyó a sus dependencias a trabajar a marchas forzadas para lograr “un periodo vacacional exitoso”.

Asimismo, el presidente dio a conocer que el municipio firmará un documento que enviará a Estados Unidos donde se presenten los avances que ha tenido Acapulco en los tres últimos años en materia turística, entre lo que se destacará la creación del Centro de Atención y Protección al Turista (CAPTA) y el nuevo modelo de Policía Turística, iniciativa que será apoyada por el presidente y fundador de Tourism & More Inc.(T&M),Peter E. Tarlow, quien fungirá como promotor de Acapulco en el vecino país.
